Cowboy/Aggie fans unite!!
2nd round, good for the aggies.  Can't wait to see this guy actually getting passes, especially from Romo!!  Witten is one of my favorite players, but Martellus will be a great #2/equal time guy.  Both are very tough and physical TEs

Side Note:  imagine his mentor?  T.O. anyone?

Texas A&M at Kansas Baseball Preview
By JQ Section: Diaries

Hi Aggies,

I have been covering Kansas baseball over at Rock Chalk Talk for the last couple years.  My preview of the KU - Texas A&M series is now posted.  Link here.

I also wanted to make sure everyone here was aware that KU would be providing a free audio and video broadcast of the games.  There is a link to this broadcast URL inside the preview article.  This is the first time KU has provided a video broadcast so I have no idea how well this will work or what the quality will be.

I will be at the ballpark for all three games but will be updating the blog with game results and impressions.  It should be a very good weekend of baseball.  This is an important series for both clubs.

Baseball v. Okie Lite
By CoachDale Section: Diaries
Posted on Fri Mar 21, 2008 at 08:04:37 PM EST

Brooks Raley has been spotted a 5-1 lead at the end of the first inning behind a Nick Fleece HR and a 2 rbi single by Darby Brown.

It should be an interesting series since many experts have Okie Lite rated about the same as the Aggies.  If A&M can find a way to take two out of three from Okie Lite, it will seriously impact the Big 12 standing down the road.

Mascot Fever

One of the best parts of March Madness is the wide variety of mascots. Here are the 65 mascots for this year's tournament. Nothing too flashy, a lot of Wildcats, Eagles, and Bulldogs. My personal favorite is the UMBC Retrievers.

Enjoy:

Tar Heels. Mountaineers. Eagles. Hoosiers. Razorbacks.

Fighting Irish. Patriots. Cougars. Eagles. Sooners. Hawks.

Cardinals. Broncos. Bulldogs. Jaguars. Volunteers. Eagles.

Jayhawks. Vikings. Rebels. Golden Flashes. Tigers.

Wildcats. Commodores. Saints. Trojans. Wildcats. Badgers.

Titans. Bulldogs. Wildcats. Hoyas. Retrievers.

Tigers. Mavericks. Bulldogs. Ducks. Spartans. Owls.

Panthers. Golden Eagles. Golden Eagles. Wildcats.

Cardinal. Big Red. Hurricanes. Gaels. Longhorns.

Governors. Bruins. Delta Demons. Cougars. Aggies.

Bulldogs. Hilltoppers. Huskies. Toreros. Boilermakers.

Bears. Musketeers. Bulldogs. Mountaineers. Wildcats. Blue Devils. Bruins.

Baseball Conference Opener
By CoachDale Section: Diaries
Posted on Fri Mar 14, 2008 at 05:39:21 PM EST

The Good Guys have their conference opener tonight against the Classless Clowns from Lubbock.  Tech has struggled up to this point, but as always the Tech Tards are a tough match-up for the Aggies.

The primary difference between the two teams comes on the mound.  The Tech team ERA is 4.91 while the A&M team ERA is 2.73.  Every Aggie weekend starter (Raley, Loux, Migl) have an ERA under 5.00 while only the Sunday starter for Tech is under 5.00.  The Aggies will also bring Thebeau (0.57 ERA) and Starling (1.08 ERA) out of the bullpen.  Bottom line is our pitching staff is much better than theirs.

They will probably have the best individual player on the field.  Kieschnick has spent the last two summers playing for Team USA and is currently hitting .417 on the season.  More than likely he will be a first round draft pick and possibly Big 12 POY.

Kyle Colligan is still coming back from a hamstring injury.  He saw his first action in a while on Wednesday against Centenary as the DH.  Luke Anders missed both mid-week games with a wrist injury.  Not sure how this is going to affect him today, but if he is out we will see the .182 batting average of Darby Brown in the lineup.

With all things considered, the Ags should take at least 2 out of 3 from Tech if they want to be contenders for the Big 12 title.

If you have any questions or things you want addressed by Hildy about the Big 12 Tournament, post them here and he will either reply or address them in his next "Live from KC" post.

Hildy, does this trip qualify as tax deductible?

If for some odd reason, you don't get enough of his tom-foolery around here, Plunk sat down (not literally) with CloneChronicles.com's CrossCyed.

Either CrossCyed can't edit, or Plunk can't type...you be the judge:

Women's Game
By CoachDale Section: Diaries

I didn't see anything posted about the women's game today at 2:30.  They are playing Missouri and should win.  Could be a good matchup tomorrow against the K-State/Iowa St. winner.

By the way, K-State's all Big-12 guard just hurt her knee.  Possibly serious.  While I feel for her, it could help the Aggies.
