Great Weekend

BIG 12 CHAMPS

The Lady Aggies basketball team rebounded from a 1-4 conference start to a blazing finish and a Big 12 Tournament Championship. The Lady Ags have won 9 straight games (3 against top 25 teams), and 13 out of their last 14 games.

After two straight early exits from the NCAA tournament, I look forward to watching Gary Blair's team take a high seed into at least the second weekend of the tournament.

A Good Start @ Olsen

The Aggie baseball team used a couple of explosive innings Saturday to propel them to a huge win over tech, 12-1. The win gives the No. 22 Aggies a 2-0 conference record. As the post is being typed, the Ags are behind 5 runs in the third inning of the 3rd game.

Henry's Crews = Top 10

Pat Henry continued his transformation of the A&M track & field programs, as both the men and women's teams earned top 10 team finishes at the NCAA Indoor Championships. For those of you who don't know, Henry has completely renovated the look of the Aggies' teams in just a handful of years. Look for the the Ags to have the same, if not better, results as they move into the outdoor season. Read the official results here.

Off the Bubble

Mark Turgeon led the men's basketball team off the bubble and firmly placed them not only in the tournament, but possibly from a 10 seed to a 6 seed. After weathering a season full of fan's complaining, whining, and second guessing him, in his first Big 12 Tournament ever, he became the school's best conference tournament coach since joining the Big 12. In just 3 games, Aggie fans went from pessimistic to optimistic.(as displayed in this TexAgs thread)

Sunday Baseball
I had a lot of confidence going into today's game.  We looked pretty good the last two days and Migl was one of the best Sunday starters in the conference last season.

With that being said we didn't look very good at all.  Tech hit, fielded, and pitched better than we did today.  Migl looked rough.  He was pulled on Tuesday supposedly because of an injury.  That could explain the tough outing, but it doesn't explain Middleton.  He looked great last time out.  Not so good this time.

If we take two every weekend in conference we will probably be Big 12 Champs.  Here looking forward to two next weekend and a better Sunday afternoon.
